He was predeceased by: his parents, Opal Mae Cox George and Stuart Allen George; his siblings, Donald George and Jo Fern George Dennis; his sons-in-law, Lynn Bunn and Richard Thomas; his close friend Hayden Lee; and his uncle Clarence Cox.
He is survived by: his spouse Jean; his daughters, Cherri Bunn of Linden, Kathy Thomas of Linden and Kim Smith of Dallas; and his grandchildren, Sonny Ray Burns of Linden, Justin Bunn (Christina) of Linden, Travis Lavaughen Cason II (Amy) of Canyon City, CO, Cory Cason of Linden, James Kensington Metcalf (Tiffany) of Linden, Harry Smith of Dallas and Shelby Smith of Nacogdoches. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Reeder-Davis Funeral Home - Linden (202 N Main St, Linden, TX 75563). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
