He was predeceased by: his parents, S. L. Smith and Mattie Smith (Bowers). He is survived by: his wife Peggy Pate; his daughter Jolee Smith Mikula (Randy) of Fulshear; his grandsons, Ryan Mikula (Emily Rudman) of Austin and Will Mikula of Austin; his son Todd Smith (Allison) of Lockhart; and his granddaughters, Kennedy and Mattie Smith of Lockhart.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 8th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the First Lockhart Baptist Church (315 W Prairie Lea St, Lockhart, TX 78644). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 8th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, May 8th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the Clearfork Cemetery (461 Clearfork Rd, Lockhart, TX 78644).
