He was predeceased by: his parents, James Carey Crain and Vera Effie Mitchell; the mother of his children Delores McLemore; his children, Chandra and Darrell; and his brothers, Wendell, Ennis and James.
He is survived by: his wife Ethel; his son Elvin Roy, Jr. (Estelle); his sisters, Dorothy Holloway, Mammie Brooks and Carrie Gamble (Arthur); and his granddaughter Monique Wells. He is also survived by her children/grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Viewing was held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Craig Funeral Home (2001 S Green St, Longview, TX 75602). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Harrison St. Church of Christ (415 Harrison St, Longview, TX 75602).
