He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Armstrong and Lola B. Ross Armstrong; his former wife Sally Rose Smith Armstrong; his son Terry Armstrong; and his siblings, Sis Jones, Marie Simmons, Elizabeth Sevalle, Preston Armstrong and Albert Armstrong.
He is survived by: his wife Mae Armstrong; his children, Reba Armstrong, Freddy Armstrong, Jr. and Steven Armstrong (Leandra); and his stepchildren, Tanja Milam Bell (Mike) and Brent Milam (Sarah). He is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel (307 W Wellington St, Carthage, TX 75633). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
