He is survived by: his wife Rosa Perez Netro; his children, Luis Martinez, Carmen (Felipe), Maria Trinidad (Juan), Griselda (Antonio), Yuridia (Miguel) and Dora (Luciano); and his mother Angela Mendez. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; three brothers; and two sisters.
