She was predeceased by: her parents, James Dempsey and Eva Dempsey; her husband Daniel Ray Pyland Sr.; her brother James "Bubba" Dempsey; her grandson William Dane Robertson; her great grandchildren, Olivia and Landon James Spangler; and her brother-in-law Steve Bassett.
She is survived by: her children, Kenneth Anderson (Dianne), Daniel Pyland (Teresa) and Loretta Lynne Shumate (Michael); and her siblings, Johnny Dempsey, Linda Gail Myers, Sandra Myers, Phyllis Green, Frankie Griffin and Susie Bassett. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
