Melody Marie Smith Escher Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melody Marie Smith Escher (Longview, Texas), born in Pittsburg, Texas, who passed away on October 23, 2023, at the age of 44, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She is survived by : her parents, Curtis William Smith and Patricia Ann Coggins Smith; her husband Alan Ray Escher; her stepmother Gracie Rae Escher; her siblings, Danny Earls, Crystal Bailey, Candace Miller and Rebecca Merkel; and her goddaughter Kahli Nicole Smarr. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and great- nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her spirit of giving and love of her students and fellow teachers, she has requested that in her memory and in lieu of flowers, personal-use gift cards be donated to teachers or filled backpacks be donated to students, in White Oak ISD or other local schools.

She lived every minute to it's fullest and has left many memories for you to hold close to your hearts forever. Heaven has open its gates and she has walked through.
