She was predeceased by: her sisters, Elizabeth Smith and Mattie J. Evans; her parents, Rev. Richard Smith and Julia Shaw Smith; and her sister Mary Lillian.
She is survived by: her granddaughter Monica Kay Adams Buckholt (Carl) of Carrollton, Texas; and her children, Montrose Renee Mitchell of Raleigh and Orrin Ray Haywood Jr. (Donna) of Raleigh. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Longview United Presbyterian Church.
