She was predeceased by: her father Willie D. Cox; and her sister Janis Cox. She is survived by: her mother Sara J. Cox; her pet Vera Cox; her siblings, Willie Ruth Cox (Victor), Barbara Johnson (Gene), Cheryl Buchanan (Leslie), Lisa Davis (Rodrick), Barry Cox (Kambry) and Michelle Mays (David); her close friend Roberta Russell; and her cousin Tinaka Johnson. She is also survived by other family members and friends.
