He is survived by: his wife Jovita Rey; his children, Angie Denman (Michael), Michael Rey, Raul Garcia (Tasha), Jennifer Garcia, Cynthia Anguiano (Leonard) and Candy Mercado; his grandchildren, Morgan Rey, Alexandra Rey, Alyssa Garcia, Audrianna Garcia, Miah Saucedo, Gunner Rey, Daniel Rey, Macon Rey, Anthony, Jeremy and Ben Garza; his children, Michaela Mercado, Steven, Santana Garcia and Laura Gonzales; and his siblings, Agustin Rey, Jr. (Alicia), Tomas Rey (Rosa), Angie Pedroza (Mario) and Luis Rey (Judy).

“Jovita, Cindy, Candy, Angie and Michael. Me and my family are so sorry for your loss. We send our Deepest Condolences. Daniel is a dear friend of mine and our family. He was a great man. If anyone could be called a serious go-getter, it would be Daniel. I've known Daniel since I was a little kid. He was always so nice but also a jokster. We had lost communication through the years but in 2016 he helped me with my disability. We reminisced about Olton. We both said we were so lucky to be alive.”
