He was predeceased by: his parent N. D. Burfield; his brothers, Wayne and Glenn; and his stepfather Henry "Pop" Lightfoot. He is survived by: his mother Bobbie Bledsoe Lightfoot; his girlfriend Rosa Factor; his children, Tammie Burfield and Michael Burfield; his granddaughter Aubrie Burfield; his sisters, Denila and LeeAnn; and his sisters-in-law, Margaret and Martha.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Lubbock through the Compassus Living Foundation in Dean's memory.
