He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Thomas and Reba Thomas; and his sister Kay Lawrence. He is survived by: his wife Carol; his stepchildren, David King (Deborah) and Cathy King; his niece Natalie Tindale; and his grandchildren, David King, Jesse King, Emily King, Ethan King and Samuel King.
