With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ricardo Mercado (Lubbock, Texas), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 7, 2025 at the age of 67. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesus Mercado and Estefana Mercado. He is survived by: his wife Mary Casas; his children, David Lee Mercado, Jason Mercado, Mary Helen Guzman (Ernie), Lindsey Mercado (Darwin) and Roxanne Ponce; his grandchildren, Lucas, Blake, Zorian Mercado, Jason, Alex Mercado, Aryah Flores (Matthew), Jordan, Avery Flores, Melody Mercado, Vincent, Xavier Coy, Rene, Matthew Ponce, Edvann and Jhovann Sandoval; and his siblings, Alicia Garza, Estella Pena, Adela Espinoza, Ester Mercado, Juan Mercado, Martin Mercado, Ruben Mercado and Sammy Mercado. He is also survived by great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Sanders Memorial Chapel (1420 Main St, Lubbock, TX 79401). A memorial service was held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
