He was predeceased by: his father Guadalupe H. Cortez; his sister Joelda Cortez (Jody); and his pets, Gio and Enzo. He is survived by: his mother Irene Cerda Cortez; his significant other Sandra Cortez; his children, Rodney James Cortez (Venessa) and Lupe Cortez; his sisters, Mary Gutierrez (Albert), Elsie Delgado (Roy) and Debbie Saldana (Martin); and his granddaughters, Ava and Kylie Cortez.
