It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Tedd Owen Carter (Lubbock, Texas), who passed away on April 17, 2024, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As Tedd Owen departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Tedd Owen may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories we hold dear and the legacy Tedd Owen leaves behind.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Ben William Carter and Marie Barbara Mesmer Carter; his brother Glenn Carter; and his stepfather Lee Dunham. He is survived by : his son Thomas Carter (Lindsay Short) of Lubbock; his wife Kim Carter; his granddaughter Addison Carter of Lubbock; his brother Jeff Carter (Dianna) of Amarillo; and his stepsister Kathy Lee Hakala of Ingram. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial (6025 82nd St, Lubbock, TX 79424). Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children's Home of Lubbock, Meals on Wheels or a charity of your choice.
