He was predeceased by: his parents, A. S. Selman and Bertha Lee Selman (McCoy); his grandchildren, Heather Selman, Justin Grimes and Caleb Mundy; his siblings, Sheridan Selman, Spencer Selman and Naomi Richard (Nancy Kimball); his stepchildren, Doug Howard and Darlene Scroggins; and his close friend Alton Eaton.
He is survived by: his wife Ruby Ard-Selman of Lufkin; his son Kirk; his daughter-in-law Jessica Selman of Lufkin; his daughter Susie; his daughter-in-law Vanessa Selman of Nacogdoches; his daughter Tresa Selman of Utah; his stepchildren, Shannon Howard of El Campo, TX, Dody Howard of Cherino, TX, James Howard of Nacogdoches, TX and Misty Howard of Flagstaff, AZ; his granddaughter Cheyenne (Tim Mundy) of Miami, OK; his great grandchildren, Mathayus Mundy of Miami, OK and Anthony Mundy of Miami, OK; and his friends, Royce Bolden (Billie Odom), Bro. Nathan Pannell, Carolyn Eaton and Russ Knok (Barbara Walker). He is also survived by numerous other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
