With heavy hearts, we announce the death of David Earl Kirkland of Lufkin, Texas, who passed away on February 21, 2026 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Zeffie Mae (Davis) and Elvin Earl Kirkland; his wife Barbara Sue Kirkland (Mills); and his grandson Jacob Runnels. He is survived by: his daughters, Davelyn (Richard Runnels), Emily Metzger and Anna (James Moricca); his grandchildren, Jessica (Luke Whittlesey), Jordan Runnels, Sarah Metzger, Neela Metzger, Kevin (Mallorie McMullen), Jonathan (Jaleigh Dewberry), Joshua Moricca and Jaci Moricca; his great grandchildren, Jasper, Truitt, Cora Whittlesey, Stormi, Rylee Runnels and Riley McMullen; his sister Betty; and his brother-in-law Alan Upchurch. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
