He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Frances (Solley) and J. P. Morgan; and his brother Dewey K Morgan. He is survived by: his wife Mitsy Morgan of Lufkin; his children, Byron (Jodi Morgan), Scotty (Candi Morgan) and Angela Barton of Lufkin; his grandchildren, Anne Marie Morgan, Janie Kae Morgan, Zachary (Kippie Morgan), Kelsi (Jacob Davis), Justin (Lola Malnar) and Brandon Malnar; his great grandchildren, Creed Morgan, Della Morgan, Courtlend Davis, Carver Kate Davis and Collyn Davis; his brothers, Phillip Morgan (Marilyn Powell) and Eddie (Myra Morgan); and his sister-in-law Carole Morgan Sheffield of Lufkin. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
