With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Doug Shives in Lufkin, Texas, born in Zavalla, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 12, 2024 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Denzil Shives and Ida Lee Grimes Shives; his sister Nelda Havard (Richard); his stepson Bubba Morgan; his brother-in-law Dale Stephens; and his mother-in-law Lois Stephens.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Shives of Nogalus Prairie; his daughter Dedra Nall (Joe); his grandsons, Dylan Pinner (Nicole), Colyn Pinner (Hannah), Logan Pinner of Port St and Landon Pinner (Emily) of Kennard; his great grandchildren, River, Kay Lynn and Emory; his sibling's children, Letha Barge (James) of Zavalla and Bo Mott of Huntington; his great-nephew Timothy Barge of Zavalla; and his siblings-in-law, Henry Stephens (Donna) of Douglas, Kelly Stephens (Deidra) of Crockett, Patricia Arnold (Jimmy) of Refugio and Sherri Rivers (Floyd) of Groveton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shady Grove First Baptist Church, 8474 Hwy 287 South Crockett, TX 75835.
