She was predeceased by : her parents, Cora Dell Gates (Goodson) and Thomas Edgar Gates; her husband Jesse Sides; and her siblings, Birdie Lee Walker, Tina Bell Campbell, Elner Smitherman, William Gates, Cleet Gates and Claborn Gates.

She is survived by : her daughter Linda; her son-in-law Ray Randolph of Lufkin; her son Ray; her daughter-in-law Pattie Sides of Nacogdoches; her daughter Patricia; her son-in-law Dale Finney of Humble; her grandchildren, Christy Burton Smith, Deidra Lea Leach (Eugene), Steven Ray Sides (Mistie), Jeremy Aaron Sides and Justin Elliott Sides (Mari); and her great grandchildren, Christian James Smith, Joshua Evan Sides, Makayla Ashlyn Sides, Jacob Ethan Sides, Madison Avery Sides, Jaxson Edward Sides, Conner Burton Leach, Kyla Rae Sides and Kaz Rucker Sides. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.
