Harry McRae Obituary

Memorial services for Harry Steven McRae, 71, of Lufkin, will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. McRae was born May 1, 1951 in Houston, Texas to the late Fannie Francis (Smith) and William Thomas Sain. He died Thursday, January 26, 2023 at his residence.

Mr. McRae was a retired Supervisor for Red T Coil, and had resided in Lufkin for the past 52 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army for 11 years. He served during the Vietnam War and was a Prisoner of War (POW). After Vietnam, he served in Germany.

Mr. McRae loved riding motorcycles, especially his Harley, and watching science fiction movies. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother.

Survivors include his son, Michael Joseph McRae of Pollok; grandchildren, Veronica McRae and husband Trace Dean, Adrianna McRae, and Michael Joseph McRae, Jr., all of Pollok; great grandson, Finn Dean McRae of Pollok; son-in-law, Doug Williams of Burke; grandson, Steven Williams of Burke; sisters, Pamela Ann Waldrep and Frances Putnam, both of Lufkin; and nephews, David Lofton and Thomes Putnam.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas William Sain; and daughter, Samantha McRae.
