It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Holmes of Lufkin, Texas, who passed away on March 5, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his son James Darnell "Finny" Holmes; and his siblings, Elray Brown, Lester Brown, Charlene Keller, Frances Waymire, Billy Jack Holmes and Weldon Gene Holmes.

He is survived by: his wife Carol Lee Holmes (Warren) of Lufkin; his daughter Jana McNeil of Lufkin; his grandchildren, Katie Elise Conner of Lufkin and James Tyler McNeil of Lufkin; his brother Bob; and his sisters-in-law, Charlene Holmes of Lufkin and Claire Holmes (Hunter) of Lufkin. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
