He was predeceased by: his parents, James Howell and Nelda Howell; and his grandparents, Jimmy, Edna Howell, David and Mamie Cobb.
He is survived by: his sisters, Tiffany and Laura South of Lufkin; and his nieces and nephews, Courtney Vaughn of North Carolina, Elizabeth Chipman of Lufkin, Kyra South of Diboll, Kasper South of Diboll and Clark Chipman of Lufkin. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
