It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Smyrl of Lufkin, Texas, who passed away on September 4, 2023, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Nolan B. Smyrl; his sister Tina Bridges; his grandmother Luzelle Dominy; and his adoptive parents, Donald Gandy and Elaine Gandy.
He is survived by: his mother Loretta Bridges (Davis); his wife Donna Smyrl (Gandy); his children, Jeremy, Gina Smyrl, Warren Smyrl, Jaimee and Matt Varner; his grandchildren, Parker, Payne, Elizabeth, Ellasyn, Addison, Owen, Maddyx and Palmer; his sisters, Karen White, Sherry (Danny Massey), Nancy (Kerry Oldham) and Patsy (Michael Rayborn); and his friends, Danita Gandy, Mike, Vickie Gandy, Matt Gandy, Jay, Lauren Smith, George, Donna Mancil and Gary Davis.
