He was predeceased by: his parents, James Hostler and Ida Irene Bell; and his siblings, James, George, Robert, Margaret, Grace Sara Ann and Helen.
He is survived by: his sister Lillian Resinger of Kinkora; and his children, Kimberly (Antionette), John Jr. and Robert. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and thirty great-great-grandchildren, and one great grand grandchild.
