He is survived by: his wife Joyce Carter of Lufkin; his children, Robert "Dale" Carter of Lufkin and Sheri Wilson (Kurt) of Lufkin; and his brother Charles Carter (Shirley). He is also survived by five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
