He is survived by: his wife Lavonne Gardner; his children, Lester Murphy, Jr., Lakesha Agnew, Dexter Murphy, Denise Bowdary and Dazira Murphy; his siblings, Rufus Cockrell, Willie Murphy, Jimmie Murphy, Gloria Wallace, Mary Moore, Candi Boltoon, Cindy Gardner, Lorene Matts, Shirley Dixon, Rose McGhee and Phyllis Chatmon; and his close friend Gary Hatchet. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; A host of cousins, nephews, nieces.
