He was predeceased by: his parents, William Henry Mettlen and Nadine Mettlen (Newland); and his parents-in-law, Ekron and Grace Brookshire. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Mettlen of Lufkin; his son Matthew; his daughter-in-law Jennifer Mettlen of Lufkin; his grandson Mikey Mettlen of Lufkin; his sister Frieda; his brother-in-law Terry Woods of Pineland, Texas; his brother James; and his sisters-in-law, Tonja Mettlen of Tyler, Texas and Sarah Rhoden of Douglasville, Georgia. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 18th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Berry Cemetery.
