It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Robert W. Mettlen of Lufkin, Texas, who passed away on May 13, 2026, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Henry Mettlen and Nadine Mettlen (Newland); and his parents-in-law, Ekron and Grace Brookshire. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Mettlen of Lufkin; his son Matthew; his daughter-in-law Jennifer Mettlen of Lufkin; his grandson Mikey Mettlen of Lufkin; his sister Frieda; his brother-in-law Terry Woods of Pineland, Texas; his brother James; and his sisters-in-law, Tonja Mettlen of Tyler, Texas and Sarah Rhoden of Douglasville, Georgia. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 18th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Berry Cemetery.
