With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ronald Hunt of Lufkin, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 7, 2025 at the age of 79. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Ronald Hunt to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Ree Hunt and Johnnie Fae Hunt Hardcastle (Baker); and his brother Jim Hunt. He is survived by: his wife Connie Hunt (Tullos) of Lufkin; his grandchildren, Campbell Coleman of Plano, TX, Carliece Coleman Storey (Ryan) of Shreveport, LA and Loretta Merritt of Hemphill; his great grandchild Sophie Storey of Shreveport, LA; his cousin Phil DeLaFosse (Annette) of Woodlake, TX; his sibling's children, Eric Hunt (Melissa) of Huffman, TX, Jo Ellen Crenshaw (Richard) of Hudson and Erin Hunt Young Timme of Lufkin; and his close friend Buck Bonner of Fairfield, TX.. He is also survived by numerous great-nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Shafer Funeral Home (600 N John Redditt Dr, Lufkin, TX 75904-0353). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 at the Johnson-Tullos Cemetery.
