Roy Cates Sr. Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Roy Cates Sr. of Lufkin, Texas, who passed away on September 22, 2023 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lennie Cates (Guffey) and Wallace Cates; and his sisters, Sue (Joe Thrailkill) and Sara (Jake Lyon). He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Cates of Lufkin; his children, Amy Ford (Rusty), Emily Jung (Ron) and Dean Cates (Lesley); his grandchildren, Aaron Jung, Blake Ford (Meagan), Gentry Ford (Carlie), Shelby Jung, Ethan Cates and Phoebe Cates; and his great grandchildren, Keily Ford and Kendall Ford. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
