He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Dowthitt-Smith; his daughter Mary Melissa Smith-Heath; his grandchildren, Robert Dustin Lamar, Ashton Rose Lamar, Kierstin Hope Lesuer, Thomas Kelton Elijah Smith and Preston Joseph Heath; and his siblings, Annie Elizabeth Alfred, Charles Henry Smith and Helen Louise Reynolds.
