He was predeceased by: his parents, William Rudolph Perkins, Sr. and Hazel Catherine Perkins (West). He is survived by: his wife Karen Perkins of Lufkin; his children, Sherry (Stede Granger) of Flowery Branch, GA, Teresa Canino of Lufkin, William Darin (Bertha Perkins) of Lufkin, Michael Messinger of Portland, OR, Richard Gray (Allie Dehart) of Beaumont, TX and Todd (Cyndi Gray); his grandchildren, Dane Perkins, Joshua Gray, Morgan Messinger, Leila Windham, Lydia Gray, Stede II, Granger and Leah Granger; his great grandchild Dawson Gray; and his sisters, Jeannette Lister and Linda Stanley. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 21st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Shafer Funeral Home (600 N John Redditt Dr, Lufkin, TX 75904-0353). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Homer Cemetery.
