With sadness, we share the passing of John Wilton Beard of Lumberton, Texas. John, born on June 25, 1929, passed away on September 17, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Family, friends, and acquaintances remember John for his warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. While he will be deeply missed, the influence he had on the lives around him remains. He was predeceased by: his mother Katy Wells; his wife Ila Jane Beard; and his father James Arthur Beard. He is survived by: his son Mickey Beard; his brothers, Orvis Beard, Nelson Beard and Tilton Beard; his grandchildren, Christy Alkire (Samuel) and Adam Beard; and his great grandchildren, Jonahs Beard, London Alkire and Rowan Alkire. He is also survived by extended family, friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lumberton Family Funeral Home (766 S Main St, Lumberton, TX 77657). A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Broaddus Cemetery.
