“Eirik, I have known you since the 5th grade at sweet Cold Spring school in montecito. It was a tiny class of no more than about 20 kids (only 8 girls!). I had just moved from LA and my parents were going through a bad divorce. I knew no one, but you took me under your wing. My mother worked, and you would always invite me over after school if I had nowhere to go. You helped me adjust, make friends and validated me amongst an already tight niche of friends. This inclusion was critical in helping endure the hard time a was going through. I’m later years, I watched you grow into a man. I watched you become a father with such grace and pride-even at such a young age. We stayed friends even in our wild 20s. You had the heavy task, of gently delivering me the news of the deviststing passing of our mutual friend, Dustin’s death, and once again, you were a rock for us all. You will always be in my memories growing up. I thank you for your friendship and I know wherever you are, your smile lights up the room, as it always did. Rest in sweet peace, until we meet again.
