He was predeceased by : his parents, Guilford Cooksie Senior and Mamie Cooksie (Woods). He is survived by : his wife Dianna Cooksie; his children, Jonathan Cooksie and Gabrielle Patterson (Drew Patterson); his grandchildren, Markayla Wilks, Xiah Cooksie, Zari Cooksie, Daniel Patterson, Eva Patterson, Journie Cooksie and Eden Patterson; his sister Sheryl Lewis; his nephew Robert Lewis; and his niece Krystal Jones (Lewis). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Mansfield Funeral Home & Cremations (1556 Heritage Pkwy, Mansfield, TX 76063).
