He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Allen and Lula Allen; and his brothers, Dan and Richard Allen. He is survived by: his wife Marsha Allen (Bollinger); his son Sean Allen (Natalie Allen (Babb)); and his granddaughters, Hannah Ordonez (Daniel Ordonez) and Sabrina Allen. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Michael's favorite volunteer organization, The Woods Project, in his memory.
