We announce the death of Gilbert E. Livanec Sr. of Manvel, Texas, who passed away on September 30, 2026, at the age of 85. He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Joe Livanec and Ella Pasak Livanec; his siblings, Lucian Livanec, Michael Livanec and Debbie Livanec Smith; and his sister-in-law Frances "BeBe" Livanec.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Livanec; his sons, Gilbert "Bert" Edwin Livanec, Jr. and Scott Addison Livanec; his brother Allen Livanec (Dolores); his siblings-in-law, Sandy Livanec and Tony Smith; and his grandchildren, Marie Louise Livanec of Knoxville, TN, William "Mac" McLeod Livanec of Houston and Caroline Isabel Livanec of Galveston. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Triska Funeral Home (612 Merchant St, El Campo, TX 77437-3440). A rosary will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the St. Philip Catholic Church (304 W Church St, El Campo, TX 77437).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Czech Center Museum of Houston.
