Laura Jean McKissick Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Laura Jean McKissick of Markham, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 12, 2025 at the age of 84. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Laura Jean McKissick to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene Thomas Rush, Jr. and Anna Louise Coward Rush; her husband Kenneth Wayne McKissick; and her brothers, Eugene "Bubba Gene" Rush and Carl W. "C. W." Rush.
She is survived by: her children, Kenneth "Kenny" McKissick (Claudia), Kevin McKissick (Lisa) and Bridgette Dannels (Robert); her sister Lisa Rush; and her grandchildren, Karissa Priesmeyer, Kourtney Hardin, Jenna Otteman, Keith McKissick, Kara McKissick, Sean Dannels, Stephanie Hinojosa and Brian Dannels. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Taylor Bros. Funeral Home (2313 Avenue I, Bay City, TX 77404). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church-Markham (170 Ave. K N, Markham, TX 77456).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a Parkinson's research foundation of the donor's choice, in hopes of finding a cure for this devastating disease.
