She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Miller and Ruby Miller (Peterson); her spouse Dean Arnold Merkal; her siblings, Melvin, Earl, Ray, Monroe Miller and Christine Miller; and her nephews, Melvin Jr. and Ray Lee Miller.
She is survived by: her son Troy Dean Merkal; and her grandchildren, Ashley Merkal, Lance Allen Hahn and Robert Dean Merkal. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Her community involvement was extensive, sponsoring baseball teams, FFA projects, and contributing to her church and numerous charity organizations.
