He was predeceased by : his parents, Oran Lester and Helvi Lester (Matola); and his sisters, Doris Atkison and Edie Hull. He is survived by : his wife Glenda Lester; his children, Dean Lester (Cancee) and Dee Wylie (Torrey); his siblings, David Lester and Margaret Tullis; and his grandsons, Dean Lester Jr., Trace Lester and Trevor Lester. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Crawford A. Crim Funeral Home (1414 S Main St, Henderson, TX 75654). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A committal service was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery (1440 Co Rd 1470, Timpson, TX 75975).
