He was predeceased by : his parents, Lawrence Ballard and Ruthie Lee Jones; his grandfather Walter Jones (Mary); and his brothers, Jessie Flakes and Thomas Flakes.

He is survived by : his sisters, Rosie Taylor (Roy Flakes), Vickie, Valley Flakes (Steven Woodards) and Jeanette Woodards. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Downs Funeral Home (4608 Elysian Fields Rd, Marshall, TX 75672). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Algoma South Cemetery (2380 Victory Dr, Marshall, TX 75670).
