He was predeceased by: his parents, Tranquelino Lara and Genoveva S. Lara; his son Joe Rodriguez; and his sisters, Teresa and Consuelo Lara.
He is survived by: his children, Sylvia Chapa, Nancy Lara, Leona Marche Lara, Mariana Luna, Priscilla Lara Garcia, Dolores Villarreal, Steve Lara, Mariano Lara Jr. and Michael Lara; his grandchildren, Bethany Lara, Koryn Lara and Numerous; and his siblings, Esperanza Cuevas, Rosalinda Lara, Janie Lara, Deacon Antonio Lara, Tranquelino Lara Jr., Jessie Lara, Augustine Lara, Luis Lara, Joe Lara, Juan Lara and Geraldo Lara.
