Thomas Ray Mathis Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Thomas Ray Mathis of Maud, Texas, who passed away on November 11, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Mathis and Homer Mathis; his sisters, Bonnie Faye Darnell, Virginia Thompson and Betty Sue Atleberry; and his nephews, David Darnell, Jeffery Lynn Thompson and Ricky Lee Thompson.

He is survived by: his brother James Homer Mathis (Peggy); and his nieces and nephews, Mary Shelby (Keith), Tina McClelland (Richard), Wayne Darnell (Nancy), Carl Darnell (Kathy) and James Thompson (Michelle). He is also survived by other family members and friends.
