We announce the death of Larry Townsend (McAllen, Texas), who passed away on July 12, 2026, at the age of 71. Larry will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Townsend and Georgia Townsend; and his sister Jeanean Carkenord. He is survived by: his sisters, Mary Virginia Gerlach, Helen Dickerson (Mark) and Lynette Morris (Randy); and his nieces and nephews, Brian Gerlach (Cori), Jeff Gerlach (Jene), Scott Gerlach (Marissa), Justin Carkenord, Lexi Carkenord, Evan Dickerson (Courtney), Griffin Dickerson (Marissa), Jillian Bason (Patrick) and Regina Shrader (Kevin).
