He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carlos Cantu and Ninfa Garcia; his sons, Severo, Rafael, Jorge, Cristobal and Miguel A. Cantu; and his siblings, Herminia Bernal, Margarita Salas, Martha Martinez, Guadalupe Flores, Ninfa "Ala" Martinez, Armando Cantu, Salvador Cantu and Reynaldo Cantu.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 at 12:00 PM and at 7:00 PM. Visitation was held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Rivera Funeral Home (1901 Pecan Blvd, McAllen, TX 78501).
