He was predeceased by: his parents, Guadalupe Cruz and Andrea Gonzalez; and his siblings, Marciano Cruz, Rodrigo Cruz, Roberto Cruz, Felipa Cruz and Juanita Cruz.
He is survived by: his wife San Juanita Salinas Flores; his children, Rosendo Cruz Jr. (Kathryn), Sylvia Cruz (Jose) of Guajardo and Elizabeth Cruz Reyna (Rafael); his grandchildren, Austin Cruz, Dylan Cruz, Andrea Cruz, David Guajardo, Michelle Guajardo, Daniel Guajardo, Christopher Reyna and Matthew Reyna; and his great grandchildren, Paula Guajardo, Kai Guajardo, Luis Alanis, Lucas Alanis, Daniel Alanis and Lourdes Alanis. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.
