She was predeceased by: her father Leon Hightower; and her siblings, Jackie Hightower and Annette Waters. She is survived by: her mother Ethel Hightower (Cooper); her husband Jackie B. Garner of McKinney, Texas; her daughters, Tina Garner Steenburg (Al) of McKinney and Dawn Garner McLean (Eric) of Trinidad, Texas; her grandchildren, Andrew Steenburg of McKinney, James Steenburg (Jessie) of Plano, Mason Schultz of Dallas, Lexi Schultz of Dallas, Josh Schultz of Dekalb, Taylor House (Aaron) of Fort Worth, Austin McLean (Trina) of Aubrey and Madi McLean of Arlington, Texas; and her sister Carolyn Verrett. She is also survived by 5 great grandchildren, extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the First McKinney Baptist Church (1615 W Louisiana St, McKinney, TX 75069). A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
