He was predeceased by : his wife June Smith; and his nephews, Daniel Smith and Darren Smith. He is survived by : his son Mike Smith (Bette) of Memphis, Texas; his brother Bob Smith of Las Vegas, Nevada; his grandchildren, Joseph Smith (Natalie) of Orange and Lauren Nikki Knuf (Anthony) of Ft. Worth, Texas; his great grandchildren, Austin Smith, Hudson and Emery Knuf; and his nephews, Darrick Smith (Kim) of Las Vega and Clyde McFarland (Vickie) of Alvord.

A wake was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Brown's Chapel of the Fountains (206 W 1st St, Borger, TX 79007). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
