Lucille Gray Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lucille Gray of Merkel, Texas, born in Tahoka, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 13, 2025 at the age of 97. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Lucille Gray to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Bennett of Benton, KY and Lillie Bell English (Reynolds) of Robinson County, TX; her husband L. J. Gray; her brothers, John English (Barbara) and George English (Bonnie); her granddaughter Casey Lucille Gray; her nephew Dwain English; and also Jeffrey Gray (Stormy).
She is survived by: her nephew Mike English (Vicky); her great-nephew Chad English (Jodi); her nephew Richard English (Lynn); her great-nieces, Rebecca Eaton (Nin) and Jessica Hartgraves (Mark); her niece Taresia Griffith (Randy); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Shanda Griffith, Cody English (Denise) and Trina Riley (Michael); her close friend Geraldine Dunlap; and also, Archer, Ainsley, Hattie, Brent English (Lauren), Maggie, Wyatt, Logan, Barrett Sloan, Ashley Lowe (John), Rory, Tyler English, Paityn, Kacie Coolman (Tyler Newman), Kinzley, Robert, DaCoda Coolman, Tanner, Trace Riley, Jessica Henson (Ryan), Averi, Jett, Lake, Justin Riley (Emily), Rush, River, Tripp, Johnny Gray (Shawna), Brandi Gray, Sidney, Taylor, London, Lanny Gray (Heather), Brooke, Oliver, Alice, Jordan and Justice Gray.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Starbuck Funeral Home Chapel (1022 N 2nd St, Merkel, TX 79536). A graveside service was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Rose Hill Cemetery (S 2nd St, Merkel, TX 79536).
