He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude "Punk" Steward and Ola Jean Steward; his brother Bobby Jo Steward; his nephew Todd Steward; and his grandson Andrew Baker.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Steward; his children, Leota Mitchell (Jeff), Wendy Robinson (David), Celeste Nurmi, David Wheeler and Kenneth Nurmi; his brother Thomas Ed Steward (Patricia); his grandchildren, JosÂhua Wheeler (Laura), Robert Baker (Des'Rae), Taylor Anderson, Adriana Goodwin and Zachary Goodwin; his great grandchildren, Colin Wheeler, Kayden Baker, Kaleb Baker, Killian Baker, Kimber Baker, Skyler Baker, Harmony Mitchell and Mariah Mitchell; and his nieces, Mendy Cheek and Tonya Reffiner (Charles).
